Biblical Exegesis and Systematic Theology (BEST)

The Research group BEST (Biblical Exegesis and Systematich Theology) is a shared research group of the Theological University of Apeldoorn and the Theological University of Kampen.

The programme leader of BEST is prof. dr. A. Huijgen. The focus of the research are Biblical studies and core themes of Reformed Theology.

The research group consists of Exegetes (of Old and New Testament) and Systematical Theologians (mainly Dogmatists). The theme of this research group is Discriminating Love. We look at the tensive aspects of God’s love, which distinguishes (for example between his people and other peoples), shows preference (emerging in election) and judgment. We want to consider how to appreciate God’s distinctive love in the light of the Reformed tradition. BEST’s interdisciplinary character offers unique opportunities.
