FINANCIAL PROOF OF FUNDING BY A THIRD PARTY OUTSIDE THE NETHERLANDS
The costs of studying and living can be sponsored by a third party abroad (that means, outside the Netherlands), for example, a church. In order to assess whether this third party is indeed able and willing to finance your study, now and in the future, some financial documents are necessary to prove that you will meet the formal requirements of the Dutch immigration service.
It is important that the sponsor has the total amount for the complete duration of the hosting agreement at their disposal at the moment of application. In your case, that would be 12 x € 1621.95 per month = € 19,463.40 (for one year). € 1621.95 is the minimum amount per month required by the immigration authorities for you as a family. This amount will be reviewed on July 1st 2015, which could lead to a revised required amount.
You will receive a residence permit for the duration of your hosting agreement. If it takes you longer to complete your PhD programme, we will have to apply for an extension of your stay, in which case you will have to prove that you have sufficient financial means for the next period.
